Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 22, 2026
HypeOrNope is built to collect as little about you as possible. There are no passwords and no traditional accounts. This page explains what we do and don't collect.
What we collect
Functional cookies. We store small signed cookies so the app works: an anonymous voter id (to stop double-voting without an account), a creator session (so you can settle your own calls), and your language preference. These aren't used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Approximate region. Our hosting provider derives an approximate country/region from your IP address so we can show rooms in your language. We do not store your IP address or precise location.
Content you create. Predictions, votes, and comments you post are public. Comments show a generated nickname, not your identity.
Contact messages. If you use our contact form, we store what you send (and your email, if you provide one) so we can respond. These are automatically deleted after 100 days.
What we don't do
We don't collect passwords, we don't track your precise location, and we don't sell your data. We don't currently serve ads; if that changes, we'll update this policy and disclose any advertising cookies here.
Who we share data with
We use Vercel (hosting) and Neon (database) to run the service. They process data only to provide the app. We don't share your data for marketing.
Data retention
Public content stays until it's removed (by you, by moderation, or by us). Contact messages are auto-deleted after 100 days.
Your choices
Clearing your browser cookies resets your anonymous identity. To request removal of content or a contact message, reach us via the contact form.
Children
HypeOrNope isn't directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Please don't use it if you're under that age.
Changes
We may update this policy; we'll change the date above when we do. Questions? Use the contact form.
